Stress Management Coaching

Stress Management CoachingStress management coaching is a great method to help you deal with stress in the workplace or in their relationships. We believe that managing stress is hugely important as when you are under pressure it negatively impacts your performance and can lead to anxiety or even panic attacks. We work with you to manage external stress as well as the stress that you place on yourself. Pushing yourself to work harder can have some benefits but when you push yourself too hard it can have unhelpful side effects. This is why on our first session together we take a close look at your current lifestyle to see where positive changes can be made.

The Symptoms of Stress

When you suffer from stress you may experience a number of physical and psychological symptoms including:

  • Headaches
  • Mood swings
  • Insomnia
  • Aches and Pains
  • IBS
  • Fast Heart Rate
  • Sweating
  • Teeth Grinding
  • Anxiety
  • Panic Attacks

A small amount of stress can be useful in certain circumstances such as when you are ready to compete in a race. You may feel the adrenaline flowing through your body and that can help you to achieve a better result. However when stress is present all the time it can have a detrimental impact on your health and well-being. A recent showed that anxious men are twice as likely to get cancer possibly because they would use substances such as alcohol to manage the feelings instead of dealing with the underlying cause.

How do You Cope with Stress?

Ideally you should be taking time to relax, unwind, laugh or take exercise to manage your stress levels. Even though you may be aware of what you should be doing it can be easy do exactly the wrong things such as:

Drinking too Much – Many of our clients use alcohol as a way of zoning out or dissociating themselves from their feelings.

Drugs – Whether they are prescription drugs such as sleeping tablets or illegal drugs they are not helping the underlying cause.

Food – It is not unusual for weight problems to be caused by clients eating for comfort or to make themselves feel better.

Zoning out – If you spend the night zoning out in front of the TV or your computer you could have a problem.

How Can Stress Management Coaching Help?

Over a series of sessions we work with our clients to manage and take control of their stress levels. Our coaching can help you to find better ways to deal with your issues rather than turning to the unhelpful habits which you are currently using. We also teach our clients self hypnosis for relaxation so you can utilise this deep feeling of peace and calm to reduce your background levels of stress. If appropriate we may give you access to our anxiety management mp3 download program which can help with anxiety, panic attacks, worrying and negative thinking as well as helping you with your sleep. You can buy this program from our online store today if you are unable to come to arrange sessions with us.

Group Stress Management Work

We also have group stress management coaching programs available where we come into your place of work and deliver our sessions to your employees. Generally these sessions last for half a day and can be a great way of giving stress management help to a number of people at the same time. Stress is one of the leading causes of absenteeism today so helping your employees to find ways to manage this problem can increase your productivity.
